With a name like PowerFULL, USPLabs brings another testosterone booster to the market. USPLabs has a few products that do a decent job at helping to boost testosterone levels, but unless you’re taking an AI (aromatase inhibitor), then any increase in testosterone that you experience will not likely lead to more muscle gains.
It will certainly help you gain more energy have a stronger sex drive, but it’s the muscle gain that most men are looking for.
Why Are AIs Important?
If you’re relatively new to testosterone boosters, you may be confused as to what aromatase inhibitors are. After all, if your body ends up producing more testosterone as a result of a certain product, then isn’t that the main goal?
Yes and no.
First of all, not all testosterone boosting supplements actually increase the levels of testosterone in the body. PowerFULL is one that does, though, so that’s a good thing. However, this free testosterone is only one part of the battle in strength gain. You’ll need to avoid having that free testosterone bound up or converted into estrogen.
AIs prevent the free testosterone from being converted into DHT (dihydrotestosterone) and estrogen. When testosterone is converted into these other hormones, it actually interferes with muscle strengthening and gain.
Key Ingredients in PowerFULL
PowerFULL relies on what it calls a ‘proprietary’ blend of velvet bean extract, and Chlorophytum Borivilianum. It also contains:
- Corn starch
- Magnesium stearate
- Titanium dioxide color
Why any of these supplements need dyes or colors is a mystery to me, but for many of these supplements, the taste is harsh so perhaps the color is used to make it seem more palatable.
The two extracts that comprise the proprietary blend are not used by many other testosterone boosting supplements, and the two key ingredients that are almost universally the same are gelatin and magnesium stearate.
One of the reasons why so many supplements contain these last two ingredients is because when you workout, your body loses some important nutrients and these supplements (some of them, anyway) help to replenish them.
Directions for Use
USPLabs recommends that you take 1 to 3 capsules before bed on an empty stomach. At $35, each bottle could either be a one month or three month’s supply, depending on how much you take.
You’ll also want to consider taking a sleep aide or supplement that can help your body relax because this supplement tends to cause trouble for sleep patterns.
USPLabs usually manufactures some decent supplements. PowerFULL has been ‘peer reviewed’ twice, which should indicate that it is effective, but going by what other guys have reported, it falls far short of its purpose. Even men who are taking an AI along with this supplement claim that there is little positive benefit overall. It seems to help boost energy levels, but not promote a solid muscle growth.
