Quick Take: Genius Estrogen Balance is designed to be a supplement for both men and women; true enough, managing levels of estrogen does indeed have benefits to both parties. If I’m being truly honest, however, this product may be more for women than it is for men. Although, in some circumstances, it can be pretty good for us guys, too. For an unbiased look at this formula, check out the review below.
- A product of The Genius Brand, GENIUS Estrogen Balance is advertised on its label to be a “DIM boosted balancing supplement”
- With regards to the previous bullet, its main ingredient does seem to be DIM – one of, if not THE most popular aromatase inhibitors today
- Also in the formula: grape seed (std. to 95% proanthocyanidins) and black pepper (as BioPerine®)
- Has gender specific benefits but also has benefits shared by both men and women
- For men, this might work best when stacked with an effective and powerful testosterone booster
- Available to buy online including Amazon and The Genius Brand’s official website. I can’t seem to find it on GNC.

GENIUS Estrogen Balance – Ingredients Review
Diindolylmethane (DIM) – This is a compound found in cruciferous vegetables that, according to studies, can modulate estrogen metabolism resulting in an increase in the ratio of “good” (C2) to “bad” (C16) estrogens. This can have both positive and negative implications on androgens but we’ll get to those in the analysis portion of this review.
Grape Seed – Standardized to 95% of its active compound, Proanthocyanidins, GENIUS Estrogen Balance truly has a potent form of grape seed. In terms of estrogen suppression, one research shows that procyanidin – a type of proanthocyanidin – is an aromatase inhibitor that prevents the formation of estrogen.
Black Pepper (BioPerine®) – This particular brand is commonly seen in several products to help optimize nutrient absorption. However, according to research, piperine – the active compound of black pepper – decreased body weight, fat mass, triglyceride, and “bad” cholesterol while also increasing “good” cholesterol.
GENIUS Estrogen Balance Directions
Each serving of GENIUS Estrogen Balance consists of a single veggie capsule. According to the instructions on the label, simply take 1 capsule with 8 oz of water 20 minutes prior to meals.
From what I read on GENIUS Estrogen Balance’s web page, this product was designed to be suitable for both men and women but it also has gender specific benefits. In particular:
- For both male and female, it’s supposed to support weight management and serve as a natural remedy for white heads, black heads, and all sorts of acne
- For women specifically, it should help relieve hot flashes and menopausal symptoms
- For men, it’s anti-estrogen properties should help in getting a leaner physique
Having said that, let’s analyze its formula and see whether or not those claims are actually reasonable.
First of all, DIM and grape seed have numerous studies proving their abilities to inhibit aromatase – the enzyme that converts testosterone into estrogen. Therefore, by blocking the activities of aromatase, these two have a good chance of stopping the production of estrogen which, technically, also makes GENIUS Estrogen Balance a legit anti-estrogen supplement.
When it comes to menopausal women – women whose ovaries are producing less estrogen – you’d think that anti-estrogen supplements such as this would do more harm than good. With DIM, however, that may not be the case. You see, DIM decreases “bad” or harmful estrogen relative to “good” or protective estrogen. As far as the consumer reviews I’ve read on DIM are concerned, this has helped many women alleviate their menopausal symptoms.
Moreover, estrogen, cortisol, and thyroid hormones are closely linked to one another and an imbalance in one hormone can lead to dysfunction in the other. In this regard, improving the ratio between good and bad estrogen might help optimize the hormonal equilibrium between the 3 groups.
Having said that, the research surrounding DIM is mostly centered around women’s health. So, I’m really not surprised that its benefits can reach as far as menopause. However, this also brings up an important question.
Will GENIUS Estrogen Balance be beneficial for men, too?
Uhh… yes and no.
In terms of physique, lower levels of estrogen and theoretically higher levels of testosterone can make it easier for both men and women to build more muscle and burn more fat. Plus, black pepper adds cardiac benefits while also further boosting this formula’s fat burning prowess.
The problem, however, is Genius Estrogen Balance’s DIM dosage.
According to research, “DIM exhibits potent antiproliferative and antiandrogenic properties” that are concentration dependent. Therefore, at this relatively high 150 mg dosage, Genius Estrogen Balance’s DIM might actually lower the effectiveness of androgens. This research specifically mentions dihydrotestosterone (DHT) but, as an androgen, DIM may negatively influence testosterone as well.
The good news here is that if you’re dealing with acne, this can help clear your pores because high levels of testosterone have been notoriously associated with break outs. For older men with prostate issues, the DHT inhibition can help, too.
However, for young and/or healthy dudes who only want to boost testosterone for bodybuilding or sports purposes, this isn’t good news.
GENIUS Estrogen Balance Benefits: Does it Work?
Yes, GENIUS Estrogen Balance works. However, after I’ve analyzed the supplement, that may not always be a good thing.
As far as its claims are concerned, yes, it can help manage weight, fat, and acne; yes, it can help alleviate menopausal symptoms; yes, it can make getting a lean body easier – and it’s all because it does seem capable of lowering estrogen. However, it might also come with lower levels of androgens such as DHT and testosterone.
For this reason, I echo The Genius Brand’s sentiments on how pairing this product with a testosterone booster is best for sports, bodybuilding, and other athletic goals. Genius Test is what the brand recommends because they want you to purchase another item from their catalogue but you might want to widen your choices by checking out the best testosterone supplements this 2018.
GENIUS Estrogen Balance Review Summary
- Ingredient quality – I have no complaints here.
- Effective aromatase inhibition – Shout out to DIM and grape seed extract
- Unisex – Well, as a stand alone supplement, I think it’s really more for women but, yes, it can work both ways.
- DIM – It’s probably the most popular aromatase blocker used in testosterone boosters but, to be honest, it may not be the best choice (refer back to “My Analysis”). Try Luteolin instead.
- Potentially bad for androgens – Again, this goes back to DIM.
The Bottom Line
Genius Estrogen Balance is what its name suggests. It balances estrogen levels through aromatase blockers (i.e. DIM and grape seed) but the benefits can also branch out to menopausal symptoms and physical appearance. However, its DIM is dosed higher than I’d like it to be which might also be detrimental to androgens. If you truly wanted more testosterone, I think its best to stack this with a dedicated and more powerful T booster.
