DHEA is a hormone that is produced by your body. Scientists used to believe that this hormone didn’t perform much of a function, but in recent years that has all changed. DHEA is believed to be responsible for a number of factors in your body, including an increase in testosterone levels.
Other Potential Benefits of DHEA
Some of the other benefits that are believed to be attributable to DHEA include helping to balance out your mood (which is beneficial for me who seems to have strong mood swings), diminishing depression, increasing energy, and helping improve memory.
As we age, just as with testosterone levels, the level of DHEA in the body begins to decline. This may be one of the key reasons why testosterone levels also decline, yet the cause and effect relationship has yet to be determined fully.
Dosage and Price
Many researchers have claimed that the recommended daily dosage of DHEA should be about 100mg, though Pro DHEA by Infinite Labs only provides 25mg per pill. They also only recommend taking one pill per day, so you would only effectively be getting ¼ of the daily recommended amount of DHEA supplement that your body should require.
The cost of a bottle for Pro DHEA is about $10, which isn’t too bad, especially if you think that you’re getting a full three months’ supply, but are you really getting the right amount of DHEA for your body in order to help boost testosterone levels? There are a number of reviews written by men who have used Pro DHEA, some of them only used it for about a few days before writing a review, which generally means they didn’t even wait to see if there would be any real benefit.
I think boosting DHEA production in the body is a good thing, so I had high hopes for Pro DHEA by Infinite Labs, but the dosage is a point of concern.
I simply cannot recommend a product that contains one basic ingredient and doesn’t achieve the recommended daily allotment of that particular nutrient set forth in research studies. I’d say that this supplement would be ideal in addition to another, more powerful testosterone booster. On its own, there is no evidence that it is going to increase the testosterone levels in your body or help you gain strength or energy levels.
