Quick Take: Don’t let the name Testosterone Max fool you. There likely aren’t going to be any testosterone boosts happening here. BUT! Don’t let that statement allow you to click away from this review either. Because you know what? I think this supplement should’ve been named Sexosterone Max. Yeah, I know that sounds like a porn star’s name. And that’s okay. Believe me when I say that when you take this, you’re going to feel like a porn star too because the sex boosts are legit!
- A product of Piping Rock, Testosterone Max isn’t really a testosterone booster.
- To follow up on the first bullet, it’s advertised on their website as a Testosterone Support Formula and if we’re going with that, then cool because that’s really what it does.
- Piping Rock Testosterone Max focuses all of its efforts towards boosting libido with 6 sexy-time ingredients.
- All the herbs used in the formula are standardized or concentrated to high quality forms.
- The formula also has Yohimbe – a risky fat-burning herb.
- Although other Piping Rock supplements are found in online retailers such as Amazon (not in GNC though), Testosterone Max seems to be exclusive to Piping rock’s website.

Piping Rock Testosterone Max’s T-Boosters & Other Ingredients
Maca – This is an herb grown in the South American Andes and has been the thing of legend when it comes to boosting sex drive and performance. While these might be great for male health, it doesn’t seem to be connected to boosts in testosterone.
Tribulus Terrestris – Similar to Maca, Tribulus Terrestris is a potent libido enhancer and might even work for boosting physical performance. However, it doesn’t seem to be an effective testosterone booster despite its popularity. According to this study, Tribulus has “neither direct nor indirect androgen-increasing properties”
Horny Goat Weed – You can probably guess what it’s for. Horny Goat Weed doesn’t just work for goats in increasing libido, it works for men too. It mimics the effects of testosterone without actually increasing it.
Yohimbe – It’s been traditionally used to boost sex drive but recently, it’s been used more as a fat burner. It works by increasing metabolism and thus, increases thermogenesis and fat breakdown. Also, it increases norepinephrine and epinephrine which are great hormones for fat loss.
L-Arginine – It’s a famous ingredient found in PWO and libido enhancing supplements. It increases Nitric Oxide production which then enhances blood flow. This increased blood flow can then be used for either pumping up muscle or jacking up the erection.
Piping Rock Testosterone Max Directions
Take two quick release capsules (1 serving) daily with meals. For faster results, take 3 capsules 60 to 90 minutes before activity.
Hmm. Let’s scan through the ingredients section again…
Maca, Tribulus Terrestris, Horny Goat Weed, Yohimbe, and Arginine. Do you see any testosterone boosters there? Because I don’t. What I see though, are a bunch of libido enhancers. And I mean all five of them.
To Testosterone Max’s credit though, these are all ingredients that “supplement” the major testosterone boosters in most T-boosting formulas. This goes with how Piping Rock markets Testosterone Max – as being a “testosterone support formula”.
Tribulus Terrestris, although being one of the most popular ingredients found in testosterone boosting products, isn’t exactly a testosterone booster. Although this study does say that men with already deficient levels of testosterone experienced an increases in their total and “free” T, it doesn’t seem to translate to males who already have healthy levels. Regardless, it’s still great for male health by improving libido and physical performance. Basically, the same can be said for Maca.
Horny Goat Weed on the other hand, mimics the effects of testosterone which means more sex. Albeit increases in sex drive, it doesn’t seem to be related to increased testosterone.
Those 3 herbs, obviously, work to enhance sex drive. This is then further enhanced by L-Arginine’s NO boosting properties. As I’ve said, by increasing NO, blood flow is also enhanced to our manly parts. When working out, it pumps our muscles and makes them feel fuller and tighter. When you’re feeling frisky though (which is what you’re most likely going to feel with this formula), the enhanced blood flow will make for harder erections. Cool, aye? Because after all, what use is feeling sexy when you have a wanky wiener?
Lastly, we have Yohimbine. It’s not really the last piece of this formula but I intentionally saved it for last in my analysis. Why? Because Yohimbine usage is tied to some side effects. Let me explain.
Yohimbine works for increasing sex drive but it’s better utilized as a powerful fat burner. While these may sound good and all, the risks associated with these benefits are far too heavy to brush aside. According to this study, Yohimbine increases blood pressure, heart rate, and cardiac load during exercise. Essentially, putting your heart under heavy stress.
I don’t know about you but I’d much rather be stuck at 20% body fat but have a healthy heart rather than be 4% lean and place my cardiac health at risk.
Does it Work?
For older men who’re already suffering low levels of testosterone, I think it might because of Tribulus Terrestris. Otherwise, no. It doesn’t work. None of these ingredients are testosterone boosters but whatever they lack in testosterone, they make up for in libido.
Obviously, I’ve written a ton of reviews and frankly, this is one of the most potent natural libido boosters I’ve encountered. The herbs used in this formula are all standardized and concentrated to top quality extracts and all of them attack sex from different angles. If you’re looking to get sexy this evening, this could work for you. Just be careful with Yohimbine, man. Those solid erections come with a price. But if you’re looking for a testosterone booster to help with your bodybuilding, you might want to check this out.
- Sex – Yeah. This can’t ever be bad, right?
- High Quality – The herbs used here might not be the best for testosterone, but they might be the best of their kind.
- Cheap – At just $20, you’re getting all these top shelf herbs that’ll get you pumped for some late night action.
- No prop blends – Thanks, Piping Rock! You rock!
- Not a testosterone booster – Yup. For a supplement named Testosterone Max, this is pretty disappointing.
- Risky – I have my eyes on you, Yohimbine.
- Exclusivity – It may be cheap but you can’t buy it anywhere else but their website, which means you can’t get it even cheaper.
The Bottom Line
Obviously, with no testosterone boosts whatsoever (except maybe for the older folks), this has no chance of making it to my list of personal favorites. However, if we disregard the fact that it doesn’t boost T and focus on the sex enhancing this formula promotes, this gets a thumbs up from me. And JUST a thumbs up. What limits me from giving this formula a strong rating is the risks attached to Yohimbine. Overall though, Piping Rock Testosterone Max should be safe if you just stick to the suggested dosage and don’t take any more of this risky herb.
